Christingle Beanie
In two sizes, and very stretchy to fit almost everyone.
Knit flat or in the round – both instructions included.
Your choice for the parts of a Christingle:
• Make the items removable so that you can add them during a talk,
• or fix them in place for a ready-to-wear hat.
Yarn: DK in orange for hat and white for candle, plus scraps in red, yellow and sweet colours.
Needles: 4mm straight, circular or DPNs
Additional: Four plastic straws/wooden skewers/chopsticks.
If you’ve wondering what the heck a Christingle is, look out for a Christingle service at your local church in the run up to Christmas, but here’s a run-down (also, yarn colours you will need):
Orange: The orange stands for God’s wonderful world.
Red: The red ribbon shows that the world is hurting and needs mending.
Various: The four fruits represent the four seasons/directions, meaning that God is in all times and all places.
White: The candle is on top of the world, meaning that God is king.
Yellow: The flame shows that Jesus is the light of the whole world.
