Ciorstaidh Hat
This joyful colourwork hat was designed to work with the five natural shades of ‘Uir’ fingering weight yarn from Shilasdair Yarn and they have several different coloured sets available to work with the Ciorstaidh Hat. Of course, think of the fun you can have choosing your own fingering weight yarn colours.
The pattern is aimed at knitters with some experience of colourwork. It is a great introduction to the Ladderback Jacquard technique.
Construction
Worked in the round from the brim up to the crown, with a rolled stockinette brim and a floral colourwork pattern for the body and crown. The crown is divided into six and worked with paired decreases on either side, culminating in a six-petalled flower. Ladderback Jacquard technique is used to control the long floats.
The pattern is fully charted.
