The Classic Comfort Beanie is a stylish but simple hat that is a perfect staple for cool weather. It is knit in the round, from the bottom up and utilises a provisional (Turkish) cast-on for the seamless double brim that won’t roll on itself. If you’ve never done a Turkish cast-on before, there is a link to a video tutorial in the pattern.

Sizes: Adult S, M, L
To fit head approx. 20 (21.5, 23.5)” / 51 (54, 59.5cm) in circumference with approx 2” / 5cm negative ease included.

Materials:

  • Approx 153 (185, 230) yds / 140 (170, 210)m of 4-ply or sport yarn
  • 2x 3.5mm circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge) **
  • Tapestry needle to weave in ends

** A note on needles: I recommend 16” (40cm) for the main body of the hat or 32” (80cm) if using the magic loop method. A second needle is used to hold on to the stitches from the provisional cast-on which will be worked into the pattern once the brim is folded. The second needle can also be used when working the crown decreases if you’ve chosen to use the 16” circular for the body of the hat. The needles do not need to be the same length.
