This scarf features rows of rippling waves in a simple half double crochet pattern. The easy, two-row repeat works up quickly, and instructions are given for a 7.5” wide scarf or a more generous 9” wide version. Made with chunky yarn, this accessory will keep the wearer warm and comfy all winter long!

Gauge is not super important, but 13 stitches and 7 rows will give you approximately 4” worked in pattern. (Height is difficult to gauge in rows due to the undulating wave shape.)

One hank of Cascade ECO+ is enough to do the smaller size with some left over (approx 300-350 yds) and should be plenty to do the larger size with the full skein. Although written for approx. 64” long, the length is adjustable to preference, which may require more or less yarn. Note that the ECO+ comes in a huge 478-yard hank. Any bulky yarn would work, but you’ll need multiples if it comes in standard size skeins.

This sample is shown in one color, but you could certainly do stripes or color blocks in different colors by changing at the end of a row as frequently as you like. It would look great with multi color waves!

Blocking is unnecessary, but would result in a larger scarf.
