Coralin Bonnet
The Coralin Bonnet is destined to be a favorite. Slip ard garter stitch patterns add an interesting texture that’s pretty and feminine without being too frilly. The bonnet covers the ears and ties comfortably under the chin with thick i-cord. Made with machine washable and affordable acrylic/wool blend, DK weight yarn, this bonnet is both easy care and easy on the yarn budget. Makes a quick-to-knit, cute and inexpensive last minute shower gift,
Bonnet is worked flat to the crown decreases, then converted to circular. Ties and neckband are applied i-cord. NO SEWING. Sample is knit in the 3 month size on US 4 needles. Simply selecting a smaller needle will make a bonnet for newborn - 3 mos.
Tools needed: US 4 needles for working flat and in the round. A pair of US 4 double points for the applied i-cord. 1 Stitch marker (optional). 1 yarn needle.
Skill level: Intermediate or adventurous beginner. Pattern calls for knit, purl, slip, garter, decreasing and applied i-cord (there are many tutorials on the Internet for applied i-cord so I do not provide a tutorial in this pattern).
The Coralin Bonnet coordinates with the Coralin Cardi to create a beautiful sweater/hat set. The pattern for the coordinating cardigan is available as a separate purchase in my Ravelry store.
