This cosy coastline shawl is a classic triangle shape with a stunning but simple design running along one side of the shawl. I love triangle shawls, they are so versatile to wear, cow boy style with the V at the front, around the shoulders or with a shawl pin or cuff to name a few.

In December, I prefer simple designs that make use of advent yarn. With so many distractions, it’s difficult to focus on anything else. This particular design is perfect for mindful knitting while still providing the pleasure of observing the colours changing day by day. Plus, you can customize it with as many or as few colours as you like.

The colour change is not noted within this pattern as I have designed it to use as much of the 10g x 24 day advent as much as possible, meaning there is very little waste. Change colour at the end of the wrong side row, meaning you start the next row in the new colour and are on the right side.

You could of course alternate colours for a row or two as this will create a more subtle fade between the colours. You could use scraps to create this stunning shawl, or even use one colour. There are so many possibilities.

The other amazing thing about this shawl it that you can make it as big or as little as you would like. The cast off could be whenever you like, check out the pattern to see what I suggest for a pretty finish.

Finished shawl Size is approximately 47 Inches by 47 inches. (119 cm by 119 cm).
