This shawl was designed during very crazy days. Around the beginning of the new year, I realized that there were going to be a lot of changes coming and adjusting to that made for a few very intense, crazy, emotional days. For that reason, the name Crazy Days Shawl has a lot of meaning for me personally.
Also, the pattern is designed in sections: stockinette, lace, stripes…
Each of these sections is easy to work and makes this shawl perfect for you to relax and enjoy if you are having a crazy day. You can easily take a break and pick up without any trouble. The lace is simple and easily readable so you will notice straight away, if you made a mistake. Enjoy!

The Crazy Days Shawl is a triangular shawl worked from the top down. The pattern is a written pattern without any charts. Every row of the pattern is written out.
You can chose to do the “classic two-coloured version” with stripes and the lace edging in a contrasting colour. In that case, you need about 60g of MC and 40g of CC fingering weight yarn.
You can also do a version with one colour and just use some minis/leftovers to do the stripes as a little highlight. In that case, you will need approximately 90g of your MC and 5g of your CC colour for the stripes.
The pattern is quite customizable, you could always add more colours or textures. Also, I recommend using the garter stitch bind-off but instructions are also given for an i-cord bind-off which will allow your lace to shine even more.
You could also add more repeats of the last (written) chart, if you wanted to make your shawl even larger.

This pattern is very beginner-friendly. Everything is explained in detail and should be easy to follow along.

For your main colour, I recommend using a solid, semi-solid or slightly speckled yarn. You could also use variegated yarn, it might however make the lace sections less visible.

Finishes measurements ca. 150cm wide, 60cm deep.

This shawl is knit very loosely to achieve a nice, drapey fabric. If you are a tight knitter I encourage you to go up one or two needle-sizes. Gauge is not crucial but might affect yardage and finished measurements.
