• DESCRIPTION:
This washcloth is composed of alternating rows of solid and crossed stitches with staggered pairs of double crochet. The crossed stitches provide visual interest as well as texture.

• GAUGE & SIZING:
Gauge (tension) isn’t very important in this project. For reference, my gauge is 14 sts and 9 rows per 4”.
Play around with hook sizes until you find one that makes a fabric you like. This pattern is written to produce a washcloth that is roughly 8 inches by 8 inches.

• ABBREVIATIONS & STITCHES USED:
ch = chain
st(s) = stitch(es)
sp = space
SC = single crochet
DC = double crochet
* * = Repeat what is between the asterisks the indicated number of times

NOTE: Beginning ch 3 counts as a stitch. Beginning ch 1 does not count as a stitch.

To change the width of the beginning chain, chain a multiple of 4 then add 3.

• MATERIALS:
About 75- 85 yards of I Love This Cotton Print in Paris in June or any #4 cotton or cotton blend.
A 4.0 mm (F) hook
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Stitch markers if desired.
