The gently scalloped edge compliments the curls of the flowers, while the straight edge of the stockinette centre finishes neatly with 90 degree angles.

I developed it for my mother’s birthday, and she was quite happy.

The body is knit with 240 yards of worsted cotton with U.S. 8 and 6 needles, the flowers are wool, the stem is a cotton/wool blend, and the yellow centres are silk/alapca. For this pattern, the most important aspects of the yarn is the colour, not so much the fibres.
