I designed this blanket when pregnant with my little girl as I couldn’t find the perfect pattern for the yarn I had. I used a 4ply gradient yarn but you can use any yarn to make a beautiful blanket and can make it in any size you wish, just remember to use an appropriate hook size for your yarn. Gauge is not necessary for this pattern.

The blanket I made used one yarn cake of 4ply gradient yarn (approx 270g, 1000m) and this made a blanket approximately 28 x 28 inches. The yarn I used is called Cotton Flowers and was purchased from Etsy; the shop is currently unavailable but there are many brands of gradient yarn to choose from if you wish to use a gradient yarn.

This pattern is worked from the centre and uses the following UK crochet terms. (US equivalent in brackets below).

Ch - Chain
Dc - Double Crochet (single crochet)
Tr - Treble Crochet (double crochet)
Ss - Slip stitch

The pattern includes an explanation and photos of each round up until round 9. From round 10 the pattern repeat increases but is easily followed using the pattern ‘rules’ as a guide if needed.
