Inspired by Tom Daley, Great Britain’s Gold Medalist High Diver, knitting during the Olympics, Dive In Deeper is a fun, crocheted cowl. It’s the second design in my Dive In series.

The sample was made in a self-striping DK /light worsted weight yarn but the cowl can be made with any yarn and an appropriately sized hook. The design would work perfectly with mini-skeins or left over yarn scraps, changing colours with the stitch patterns.

Dive In Deeper is crocheted in the round.

Gauge: The gauge is not crucial for this design. I suggest trying the pattern with the suggested hook size or one size larger or smaller to find a fabric you love.

Finished Size: The sample has a circumference of 22 inches and is 11 inches tall (56 cm by 28 cm).

Dive In Deeper is completely customizable both in width and length by working more or fewer repeats of the patterns.

The directions for the stitch patterns used are given first, followed by the instructions for the cowl itself.

Terminology: US crochet terms are used throughout the pattern.

The pattern is written, there are no charts.
