Pattern Notes for Drifty Hooded Cowl
The cowl is worked in the round from the neck down. The collar is worked without increasing, then the lower section is widened with increases for a better fit.

Stitches for the hood are picked up from the cowl, and the hood is worked flat from the bottom up. The hood is shaped with short rows at the top, then the two halves are joined using a three-needle bind-off.

Stitches for the ribbed edge are picked up and knit along the hood opening, and the ribbing is worked flat. Finally, the lower edges of the hood are sewn together over a few stitches.

Yarn 1: Lamana Merida (50% wool, 25% silk, 25% polyamide), 50 g = 200 m (219 yds)

18 sts × 29 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 × 4 in) in stockinette stitch worked flat

Needles
-3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles: 40 cm (16 in) and 80 cm (32 in), or size needed to obtain gauge
- For the hood edge ribbing: 80 cm (32 in) circular needle 3.0 mm (US 2½), or 0.5 mm smaller than the main needle size

Measurements
The sizing of the hooded cowl is based on head and neck circumference. The neck section is worked in ribbing and stretches well.

• In the table, head circumference refers to the wearer’s recommended measurements
• Neck (collar) circumference refers to the unstretched base circumference of the finished garment. Because the ribbing stretches, the same wearer’s neck circumference may fit more than one size, resulting in different fits
• The hood increases in size as the neck circumference increases

Työn kuvaus - Drifty huppukauluri
Ensin neulotaan kauluri -osuus suljettuna neuleena ylhäältä alaspäin. Kaulus neulotaan ilman lisäyksiä, minkä jälkeen kauluria levennetään alaosasta lisäyksin paremman istuvuuden saavuttamiseksi.

Hupun silmukat poimitaan kaulurista, ja huppu neulotaan tasona alhaalta ylöspäin. Hupun muotoilua tehdään hupun yläreunassa lyhennetyin kerroksin, minkä jälkeen hupun puoliskot yhdistetään kolmen puikon päättelyllä.
