Ἐμμέλεια is an Ancient Greek word with several layers of meaning. It can be translated as “harmony” or “gracefulness”.

Sizing:
3XS: 76 cm / 30”; 2XS: 81 cm / 32”; XS: 86.5 cm / 34”; S: 91.5 cm / 36”; M: 97 cm / 38”; L: 102 cm / 40”; XL: 107 cm / 42”; 2X: 112 cm / 44”; 3X: 117 cm / 46”; 4X: 122 cm / 48” bust.

Shown in size XS on a person with a 84 cm / 32” bust and a 94 cm / 37” hip.
The sweater is intended to be worn with 2.5-5 cm / 1-2 inches of positive ease around the bust and bottom edge.
The pattern contains detailed modification advice for waist shaping and bust adjustments.

Yarn requirements:
Size 3XS = 770 m / 840 yds; size 2XS = 880 m / 960 yds; size XS = 970 m / 1060 yds; size S = 1040 m / 1140 yds; size M = 1140 m / 1250 yds; size L = 1240 m / 1360 yds; size XL = 1320 m / 1440 yds; size 2X = 1390 m / 1520 yds; size 3X = 1460 m / 1600 yds; size 4X = 1510 m / 1650 yds.

Yarn advice:
The two yarns I used in the original sweater were a random discovery at my favourite yarn shop, where they have Isager and Wetterhoff yarns on neighbouring shelves. They both produce a pleasant lightweight fabric, and the sheen of the silk emphasises the colour contrast. Any light fingering weight or heavy laceweight wool or wool blend can be used.
If the stripe sequences are worked as per pattern, about 25% of the total yarn amount is needed in the contrast colour and about 75% in the main colour.

Tension/gauge:
29 sts / 38 rows = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette stitch.

Needle advice:
Use the needle size that gives you the required gauge, most likely 2.5 - 3mm / US 1 ½ -2 ½.
You will need a medium long circular needle (80 - 100 cm / 32 - 40’’) to knit the yoke body in the round. The sleeves can be worked with “magic loop” or with dpns.

Construction:
The garment is worked top down in the round, starting with the striped yoke, which is shaped with regular increases. After that, more increases are worked along the raglan lines. (This hybrid yoke/raglan construction eliminates the typical angular look of a raglan neckline but has much better armhole shaping than a full circular yoke, thus combining the best aspects of both styles while avoiding the disadvantages of either.) Then the sleeve stitches are put on hold, while the front and back of the body are joined and worked in the round towards the bottom edge with optional waist shaping. Next the sleeves are also worked top down in the round, with gussets for a neat fit at the underam. Both body and sleeves are finished with a folded hem. Finally the neckline is finished with an i-cord edging.

Maschenprobe:
29 M / 38 R = 10 x 10 cm in glatt rechts.

Nadeln:
