Essence Kerchief is a minimalist and elegant triangular kerchief designed specifically for standard gauge machine knitting.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner.

Format: Technical Cheat Sheet with clear engineering schemes, detailed step-by-step written instructions, and photo/video tutorials for key techniques.

Construction: Worked flat and completely seamless. The kerchief is knitted from the widest part outwards in both directions, finishing with the shaping of the corners. This specific construction and edge treatment ensure that the edges remain perfectly flat and do not roll or curl.

Knitting machine: Standard gauge single-bed(4,5mm) Brother / Silver Reed.

Original Sample Yarn:
Cariaggi Cashmere 2/28, held double

Gauge: 32 sts & 48 rows = 10 cm in Stockinette stitch (on working tension 4.1).

Recommended Yarns:

  • 100% carded cashmere on cones, Nm 2/26–2/28.
  • carded merino/cashmere blends (70% merino/30%
    cashmere), adjusted to a final yarn count of approx.
    650–700 m per 100 g.
