The Fields Top is a light tank top, with a minimal and classic look, featuring short slits on the sides. It’s worked top-down in stockinette, with an original shaping at the top. It being very light makes it perfect for hot summer days. Or, if made in wool, mohair or similar fibres, it can be worn as underlayer in winter.

Construction:
It is worked top-down.

Techniques:
knitting flat, knitting in the round, german short rows, increasing, backwards loop cast-on, applied i-cord edge, i-cord strap, working the slits, bind off.

Circular knitting needles:
-3 mm (US 2.5) or the required needles to obtain gauge - for main project;
-2.75 mm (US 2) or approx. half size smaller than main needles - for the edges and straps (note: either a dpn or circular needles in this size work for the edges and straps).

Cable:
-for body: 60cm/24” for XXS-XS-S, 80cm/32” for M-L-XL, 100cm/40” for 2X-3X, 120cm/48” for 4X-5X.
-for edges: any shorter cable.

Dpns:
-4 dpns of 3 mm (US 2.5) or same size as main needles;
-1 dpn of 2.75 mm (US 2) or approx. half size smaller than main needles - for edges and straps (note: either a dpn or circular needles in this size work for the edges and straps).

Crochet hook (optional):
