Fiordland Hat is a comfortable, slouchy hat with a touch of elegance in the braided brim.
It has a unique construction that makes it a fun and unique project, and can usually be done using just one skein.
It is named after beautiful Fiordland National Park on the South Island of New Zealand.

Construction:
This hat begins with the braid and ribbing section knitted flat and then seamed together at the edges. You then pick up stitches in the round, knitting up the body of the hat and decreasing on dpns to finish.

Needles:
4 mm/US Size 6 straight needles
5 mm/US Size 8 circular needle (40 cms/24 inches recommended)
5 mm/US Size 8 double-pointed needles

Heavy worsted or aran weight/10 ply to achieve gauge
