A seaworthy classic buttoned vest with a modern twist for fisherwomen, fishermen, fisherteens & fisherkids! Knit bottom up, flat, and seamlessly in one piece. Pattern is written for aran/heavy worsted weight yarn, in six sizes 30-50” bust, includes a gauge substitution chart so you can use bulky to fingering/sport weights and have a broader size range from 24”-60” bust, with more yarns you love (note that some yarn weights will exclude some sizes.) Vest has choice of crew or v-neck shaping, and with four charts to choose from, you can make a traditional fishermen’s style vest in your favorite heirloom yarn, or handspun!

FITTING NOTE: The sizes for Fisher Vest are graded for average build, unisex, with gauge of 4.5 sts = 1” -- all sizes having same proportion using percentage grading, it is up to the experienced knitter to make adjustments for custom sizing (as plus, petite, tall, etc).

Construction: Fisher Vest is worked bottom up, flat, in rows back and forth with right-side (RS) and wrong-side (WS). Worked in one piece to underarm, then fronts and back are worked separately to the shoulders. Shoulder seams are not shaped, but joined at finish with 3-needle bind-off Armholes & button bands picked up at edges and worked last. NOTE that every size is unique how the charted motifs look through the armhole and neck shaping, and shoulder join.
