A seaworthy classic buttoned vest with a modern twist for fisherwomen, fishermen, fisherteens & fisherkids! Knit bottom up, flat, and seamlessly in one piece. Pattern is written for aran/heavy worsted weight yarn, in six sizes 30-50” bust, includes a gauge substitution chart so you can use bulky to fingering/sport weights and have a broader size range from 24”-60” bust, with more yarns you love (note that some yarn weights will exclude some sizes.) Vest has choice of crew or v-neck shaping, and with four charts to choose from, you can make a traditional fishermen’s style vest in your favorite heirloom yarn, or handspun!

FITTING NOTE: The sizes for Fisher Vest are graded for average build, unisex, with gauge of 4.5 sts = 1” -- all sizes having same proportion using percentage grading, it is up to the experienced knitter to make adjustments for custom sizing (as plus, petite, tall, etc).

Construction: Fisher Vest is worked bottom up, flat, in rows back and forth with right-side (RS) and wrong-side (WS). Worked in one piece to underarm, then fronts and back are worked separately to the shoulders. Shoulder seams are not shaped, but joined at finish with 3-needle bind-off Armholes & button bands picked up at edges and worked last. NOTE that each size is unique how the charted motifs look through the armhole and neck shaping, and shoulder join.

I invite Any & All who are knitting Fisher Vest to bring questions, comments, great tutorial links, and otherwise general related chattiness to my Jenjoyce Group which exists just for knitters of Jenjoyce’s patterns. The kettle is on… see you there !
