FLINT
…………………………

Sporting the proportions of a classic baseball t-shirt whilst luxuriating in the
texture of a sumptuous yarn, this two-tone design is as familiar as it is striking.

You can knit it flat in pieces (fl), or seamlessly using intarsia (int). The Flint
Pullover is ready for action - be it out in the field, at the local cafe, or in your own back yard.

INTARSIA GUIDANCE

Please be aware, this pattern briefly explains how to work intarsia, but does not include intarsia lessons! If you are completely unfamiliar with the technique, you will need to learn the basics before trying the intarsia version of the yoke.

Carol Feller offers an excellent free intarsia tutorial here, which will enable you to understand the technique.

Note that you will not need to read intarsia charts for this pattern. Because the colour transitions in Flint always happen in the same place and are extremely obvious, charts are not needed. Therefore, this is actually a great pattern to try intarsia for the first time, since you only have to worry about colour management without also having to pay attention to charts.

In addition to written instructions, helpful diagrams are provided to help you visualise the colour layout and knitting direction.

PIECED YOKE GUIDANCE

If intarsia is not for you, this pattern provides alternative instructions for working the yoke in pieces, then assembling them to continue in the round. In its finished state, the yoke will look identical regardless of which version you opt for, so it is only a matter of which method you prefer working.

Basic hand-stitching skills, or knowledge of mattress stitch, will be needed for the pieced option.
