Flowers in the Rain is a half circle lace shawl; it is worked from the center back of
the neck down to the border.

Skill Level: from intermediate to advanced.
Pattern includes charts and chart notes; there are no row-by-row written instructions except for the Rain Chart.
Size: adjustable.

The shawl size can easily be enlarged by repeating Rows 1-8 of the RAIN CHART following the FLOWER CHART as many times as desired.

Yarn used : Alize Kid Royal (62% mohair, 38% polyamide; 250 meters 273yards / 25 grams).
The sample required 990 m / 1083 yards of yarn.

Finished measurements: 200 cm (78½ “) along the wingspan and 100cm (39½”) depth, measured after blocking.

Finished size depends on yarn choice, needle size and your
individual manner of knitting.
Gauge is not important for this project but will affect the finished shawl size and yardage requirements.
Tools:Size 2.5mm (US1½) circular needles; size 1.5 mm crochet hook for binding off; stitch markers; crochet hook and a waste yarn for provisional cast on.

Edge stitches:
Each row begins and ends with the three edge stitches.
Work these stitches on both right and wrong sides as follows: k3; work in pattern as established until 3 stitches remain; k3. These three edge stitches on either side of the body will form the garter stitch edging creating the top horizontal line of the shawl.

Attention!
Edge stitches are NOT shown on the charts and are not included in your stitch count !
