About this Design
The Foliage Hat is what happens when your knitting decides to take a cheerful little wander through the garden. Playful leafy motifs dance around this cosy stranded colourwork beanie, creating a design that feels polished, fresh, and just a little whimsical.
Worked in the round using DK-weight yarn, the colourwork is rhythmic and engaging without becoming overwhelming, making this a great confidence-building project for adventurous beginners and an enjoyable, relaxing knit for experienced colourwork fans alike. The crown shaping flows naturally from the motif, while the contrast leaf colour pops beautifully against the background shade.
With seven sizes ranging from Newborn to Extra Large Adult, Foliage is perfect for family knitting, gift knitting, or simply casting on “just one more” colour combination. The ribbed brim provides a snug, comfortable fit, while the body has enough ease for an effortless everyday look.
This is also a wonderfully stash-friendly project. Two colours, manageable yardage, and endless palette possibilities make Foliage the sort of pattern that quietly multiplies on your needles.
Size
Seven sizes are included: Newborn through to Extra Large Adult.
The finished hat is designed with approximately 1–2 inches of negative ease for a snug but comfortable fit. Instructions are included for easily adjusting the hat length if desired.
