Folkflora grew out of my love for simple colorwork, the kind of little motifs that make you smile every time you see them. I wanted to capture some of that feeling in a pair of socks: something fun and pretty, but still easygoing enough to be an enjoyable knit.
These socks are worked cuff down, starting with a folded picot edging. The cuff is followed by a short colorwork section inspired by traditional flower motifs. The rest of the sock is worked in easy stockinette, with a classic heel flap and gusset construction and the toe is finished with a star toe.
The pattern is designed for fingering weight yarn and includes three sizes. You’ll need one main color and two contrasting colors. Contrast colors use only a small amount, making this a great project for using up yarn scraps. Folkflora is a simple, enjoyable knit with just enough colorwork to keep things interesting.
