A reusable air freshener in the classic tree shape, using the folksy Granny stitch. For use in cars or around the house. Perfect for Holliday décor and adding some fresh pine scent to a plastic tree.

The instructions and tutorial show how to make the tree, stitch on the beads, and attach an elastic or ribbon loop to hang it from.

For automotive use I recommend a weight 3 yarn and hook to match. The finished tree is smaller and hangs better in a car.

Thicker yarns are great for décor around the house or for Holliday fresheners or gift tags.

Not much yarn yardage is used up, so this a also a great scrap busting project.

Additional Materials:
Elastic cording or ribbon to make a hanger.

Absorbent beads such as wood, lava rock, or felt pompoms

Fragrance oil, essential oil, or a spritz of your favorite cologne

When choosing a Fragrance or Essential oil keep in mind the color. Some oils may stain the beads and wick into the yarn. Vanilla is notorious for turning things brown, even when it starts off clear.
