This pattern is more a record of what actions I have performed to make this blanket. I did not use testers or tech editors. It is free. I understand how lean these days can be. However, after you’re done making your beautiful blanket, and you’re so inclined and able, you can make a donation by emailing me an amount you think I deserve, and I can send a PayPal invoice for that amount. If you think this pattern sucks, or have questions or comments, suggestions, or whatever else, my email is TexasCrochetDesigns@gmail.com

I used 20.5 skeins of dk weight yarn total - 9 of Premier Anti-pilling Everyday DK in cream, and 11.5 Loops & Threads Facets in color # 101 (electric, 7.5 skeins) and # 105 (seaglass, 4 skeins) - and a 4mm hook. I used the cream color for all rounds of Color A. And for rounds of Color B, I’ve indicated in the pattern where I’ve started using either color # 101 or # 105.

As an aside, although the Facets yarn is beautiful, I did not enjoy working with it, to the point that this blanket isn’t finished, but I wanted to document it anyway. It’s a roving type yarn with inconsistent thickness, and it’s about impossible to frog! I recommend using something else instead. Maybe a canary yellow for all of Color A, and a sky blue for the middle section of Color B, a medium blue for the next section of Color B, a teal for the next section, a midnight blue for the next, ending towards black or charcoal. Premier Anti-pilling Everyday DK has a great color selection and would probably be able to fulfill that suggestion. Or go with something in your stash! Doesn’t have to be anything in particular.

The finished size is about 5.5ftx5.5ft, but would’ve been about 6ft square if I had forced myself to do about 9 rounds of hdc in the rainbow color to finish. I could not since I really grew an intense hatred for that facets yarn.

You might need to search for and watch an overlay mosaic crochet tutorial on YouTube first if you’ve never used that technique before. This pattern could easily be done by an adventurous beginner, as long as you know the anatomy of stitches and the types of stitches listed below.

My apologies go out to the more visually inclined as I will not be providing charts along with the written pattern. In the making of this blanket, I did not draw up many of the figures in it, and therefore don’t have them for you to reference, either.
