The Less Appreciated
Featuring vultures and dandelions. The world would be a lot grosser and less fertile without them!
This is my first pattern, and I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m trying my best! It is free. I understand how lean these days can be. However, after you’re done making your beautiful blanket, and you’re so inclined and able, you can make a donation by emailing me an amount you think I deserve, and I can send a PayPal invoice for that amount. If you think this pattern sucks, or have questions or comments, suggestions, or whatever else, my email is TexasCrochetDesigns@gmail.com
I used 34 skeins (3,400 grams, or 9,282 yards) of Premier Anti-pilling Everyday DK yarn, and a 4.5mm hook. The colors were: linen, almond, straw, fawn, terra cotta, cherry, garnet, and black. Approximately 15.5 of the 34 skeins were used for Color A, and 18.5 were used for Color B.
The finished blanket measured 7ftx7ft, (2.13mx2.13m) about queen sized. If you want a smaller or bigger blanket, I suggest using a lighter or heavier weight yarn and the recommended hook size for it, plus 0.5mm (a 4.5mm hook if it recommends 4mm, for example). Size will vary based on your tension, but since it’s a blanket, that doesn’t matter all that much.
You might need to search for and watch an overlay mosaic crochet tutorial on YouTube first if you’ve never used that technique before. This pattern could easily be done by an adventurous beginner, as long as you know the anatomy of stitches and the types of stitches listed below.
My apologies go out to the more visually inclined as I will not be providing charts along with the written pattern. In the making of this blanket, I did not draw up many of the figures in it, and therefore don’t have them for you to reference, either.
