Frank Lloyd is a two pattern, four color, double-knit cowl for the advanced knitter. The cowl, designed to showcase hand paint yarn, is unique in that it employs four colors and produces two different fabric patterns on the facing and opposite side.

Three semi-solid color skeins and one variegated color skein with random color repeats ranging from 1”/2.5 cm to 9”/22.9 cm are used to create a diamond motif and a leaning stripes motifs. The model was knit using 1 skein each of The Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze Frank Lloyd, Patina, Garganay, and Brown on Brown.

The cowl is knit on US 6 (4.0 mm) 32” circular needles at a gauge of 20 st and 24 rows in 4” and uses Alasdair Post-Quinn’s Standard Double-Knitting Cast On. Technique and finishing notes are included in the pattern.
