This pattern combines two yarn weights; the chunky Alafosslopi and the worsted/DK Malabrigo Rios. The Alafosslopi is warm and sturdy but also itchy and the Rios is super soft and flexible. The use of linen stitch makes the Alafosslopi yoke even more inflexible but also very warm and withstanding wind. You will get the best result if you use three different colors of Alafosslopi (or more!).

The construction starts from the upper yoke and increases are worked with yarn-overs in a raglan setup. Sleeves are separated and the working yarn is switched to worsted/DK superwash. The body is worked in sections of ribbing with stripes of purl rows between them where Alafosslopi yarn can be sewn in at the end if you want. The body is finished with a linen stitch edging. The collar is worked in worsted superwash ribbing to avoid itching at the neck. Sleeves are worked in Alafosslopi linen stitch for superb resistance to cold and wind, but finished in worsted superwash cuffs for comfort.

A note on the stated yoke depth (size table picture): part of the armhole depth is included in the collar, so the table yoke depth is what you are expected to have in CC (Alafosslopi). For size selection you can assume the armhole depth has a small positive ease.

You will need a range of circular needles in 7-8mm/US10-11 for the Alafosslopi and 4mm/US6 needles for the worsted/DK yarn. Sizes Small through XL will need 4mm/US6 DPNs for the cuffs.
