Cast on and join the Fun of the Fair with this delightful textured Helter Skelter jacket for babies aged 3-12 months. The jacket is knitted top down all in one piece ‘to and fro’ and ‘in the round’. There are no seams or separate button borders to attach! The texture is achieved by incorporating polka dot stitches into the jacket. It can be knitted using any double knitting yarn of your choice. It looks great in plain colours but is even more stunning when knitted in Fair Isle effect yarn producing the swirl of colours and patterns reminiscent of sliding down a helter skelter. There are many bright and interesting Fair Isle effect yarn colourways available. The jackets illustrated in this pattern booklet were made using ‘Fairground’ by James C. Brett.

Instructions are given for three sizes: 3-6 months, 6-9 months and 9-12 months.

You will need:
Knitting Needles: 4 mm (UK Size 8/US Size 6) circular needle, 50-60 cm long (tip to tip) or two single-point 4 mm needles. You may find that metal needles are easier to use than bamboo ones as the stitches slide more easily.

6 x stitch markers/small safety pins
6 x 1.5 mm buttons
Yarn: 2 x 100 g Fair Isle effect double knitting yarn
