This hat and cowl incorporate cabled hearts as well as classic cables. The big, squishy chenille yarn makes them soft and warm. As cozy as they are adorable, the Fuzzy Hat & Cowl will quickly become your favorite winter accessories!
I know Ravelry prefers separate entries for matching items in a set, but the Fuzzy Hat literally uses the exact same pattern as the Cowl until you get to the last few rows for decreases/end ribbing, so I chose to put them together.

Skills:
The cabling is EXTENSIVE. There is cabling in literally every row except the ribbing and one or two of the decrease rows for the hat. There is one row in which EVERY INDIVIDUAL STITCH, without exception, is part of a cable! I therefore recommend this pattern to experienced cable-users and those who are comfortable cabling without a cable needle (although instructions for both methods, with and without a cable needle, are included). You will also need to know: knit, purl, p2tog, k2tog.

Materials:
I chose Bernat Baby Blanket yarn, but any super bulky chenille yarn will work. However, please learn from my mistake and don’t use color-change yarn. It makes the hearts much harder to recognize.
The hat and cowl together use about two-thirds of a ball of Bernat Baby Blanket. You will also need size 11 (8.0mm) circular knitting needles and scissors. You may want a cable needle.

This hat can fit multiple sizes depending on yarn tension. Knit tightly to fit an older child and loosely to fit an adult. You can also add or subtract stitches in multiples of 12 and accordingly alter the number of repeats in each row.
