These toe up socks incorporate Adriafil’s self-striping yarn for the stunning colors. The toe and heel are worked in the Malabrigo Rios. The toe begins with Judy’s Magic Cast On, and increases are done every other round until the diameter is correct for your toe. Then the Adriafil is added in and stockinette stitch is worked until the total length of the foot is 2 inches shorter than the foot needs to be. A length of contrasting yarn is knit into the place where the heel will be created, and the rest of the tube is worked until the length you desire is reached. One by One Ribbing finishes the cuff. To create the heel, the right leg of each stitch above and below the added contrast or scrap yarn is picked up and the contrast/scrap yarn is removed. The heel is built simply by plain knit rounds and decrease rounds. The Kitchener Stitch is worked to close up the heel.
A video tutorial is included with the pattern.
These socks can be worked one at time or two at a time with Magic Loop, or can be done one at a time either with Magic Loop or DPNs.
Other worsted weight yarns can be used, depending on the look you prefer.
I used less than a full skein of Adrifil, and my only suggestion is that with this yarn, you choose put ups that have a beginning in the same color repeat so that your socks match.
They are truly simple and very quick to knit!
