These hand warmers are a great last-minute gift or stash-buster. You can make a pair in under 3 hours, and you can use any color combinations you have on hand. Plus, the unique thumb design makes construction a breeze. They’re knit from the bottom up, starting with a ribbed cuff and then increases for the thumb gusset. The thumb stitches are then knit back and forth and closed with a few crochet stitches.

Finished measurements: appx 5.75” (7.25”) around the widest part of the hand (just past the thumb separation).

Materials:

Yarn: Any worsted weight yarn that meets gauge- appx 40 (60) yards of the main color and 10 (20) yards of the contrast color
Needles: Size US 5 double-pointed needles
Notions: Needle for weaving in ends, stitch marker, crochet hook (us size F, 3.5mm)

Gauge: Appx 22 stitches x 30 rows = 4” x 4” in stockinette stitch.
