Grass and Flowers shawl is a bottom up shawl, which means you will cast on a large amount of stitches that make the bottom border.

Then stitches are decreased until 1 stitch is left on your needle. It is designed of two sections with two different sets of decreases each.

Size: 1 (2)

size 1 - 43 inch by 18 inch (109 cm x 46 cm)
size 2 - 51 inch by 21 inch (130 cm x 54 cm)

One skein of
425 m (464 yards) - size 1 or 2
400 m (437 yards) - size 1 or 2 with mini
366 m (400 yards) - size 1 only

Gauge: 22 sts x 30 rows = 4 inch / 10 cm Stockinette Stitch with US 4 - 3.5 mm. The gauge isn’t crucial for this shawl. However the size and the needed yardage might be affected by it.

Needles US 4 - 3.5 mm 40 inch / 100 cm circular needle

Yarn
For Size 1 I recommend using a skein either 400 yds / 366 m or 437 yds (400 m) with just extra 6 g of contrast colour

For Size 2, I recommend using a skein with a minimum of 464 yards (425 m). You can also use a skein with a minimum of 437 yds (400 m), but to be safe, use a Contrast Colour also in Row 1 and 2 (approx 15-20 g will be needed). The shawl will be bigger and more yarn will be used from your one skein.
