PDF Crochet pattern for the super cropped, perfect-for-layering ’Growth Spurt’ Sweater. Pattern includes sizes S/M-4XL/5XL. It features a straight fit raglan sleeve, short and wide body and a gorgeous faux knit summery gauge. This pattern uses slip stitch in back loop ribbing, and yarn over slip stitch in back loop. While this is not a beginner pattern, if you are comfortable reading written instructions, it’s simple enough for your first bigger project working the stitches used. The pattern also offers instructions for customizing the length.

This pattern is made with an 8mm hook, and uses approximately 840-1130 meters of any aran/cat 4 weight yarn.

Width measurements from armpit to armpit:
S/M-53cm, L/XL-64cm, 2XL/3XL-73cm, 4XL/5XL-83cm.

Length measurements from neck to bottom hem:
S/M-35cm, L/XL-40cm, 2XL/3XL-45cm, 4XL/5XL-50cm

It is a written pattern with step by step instructions, no images for each step. It is in English and uses standard US terminology, with specifics given in metric units.

I was a weird looking child. Grew incredibly disproportionate, big feet and long torso, and started looking more like a human in my late teens, as opposed to the weird greyhound-alien hybrid I was before. I dreaded shopping, as nothing would fit, especially not tops and I always had to layer everything. For a long time after I grew into my body I refused to wear anything that exaggerated my already, well, exaggerated features. No chunky shoes, no crop tops, no nothing. Until a couple of years back when I just reclaimed it, which ultimately led me to design this particular piece. When I wear this, with it’s cropped length and slightly too short sleeves, it’s not bringing up bad memories. Instead it feels like hugging my pre teen self and telling her that we’ll be fine.
