The Gulliver Beanie is a quick-to-knit close-fitting hat in worsted weight yarn. It features a repeating Triple Gull cable pattern. A twisted stitch ridge runs from the cast-on edge to the crown, and is incorporated into the ribbing pattern for a smooth transition to the body of the hat.

Additional gauges (based on 4x4” (10x10cm):

Ribbing: (on 3.5mm/US 4): 22 sts & 36 rows
Cable pattern: (on 4.5mm/US 7): 22 sts & 34 rows

The finished dimensions are:

Height: 8”/20cm
Diameter: 16.5”/42cm (5-6”/13-15cm of negative ease)

The sample is knitted on a combination of 16”/40cm circulars and double-pointed needles.

The cable pattern is charted and written out. A separate table details the progression of crown decreases, with boxes to tick off the rows as they are completed.

Explanations, pictures and links to recommended YouTube tutorials are provided for various stitch techniques included in the pattern.
