A teacher by profession, I firmly believe that to truly understand a topic, one has to be able to explain it. This requires that information be mentally organized and accurately expressed to be shared effectively.

Creating a clear and concise knitting pattern requires understanding the process of its construction. I’m a visual and tactile thinker and learner, not a spatial one, so designing makes me work on imagining the end product and planning the path to my project destination.

When I design a pattern, even learn to knit it by heart through testing and re-testing, I feel that I have truly progressed towards honing my craft of choice.
