Scuba Ray is a stranded mitten design inspired by fond memories of scuba diving in the turquoise waters of Cozumel and spotting eagle rays.

I’ve chosen a range of gradient turquoise blues to approximate the changing colour of the sea at various depths, but alternatively one medium shade of turquoise could be used for the whole mitten. You will not need full skeins of each colour. Leftover stash yarn in the correct weight can easily be used.

Although I have listed the needle size above as 2.75 mm/US2, I knitted these up in two sizes.
On 2.75mm: (hand circumference above thumb: 7.5” (19 cm), length: 9.5” (25 cm)
On 3.25mm: (hand circumference above thumb: 8 ¼” (21 cm), length: 10” (25.5 cm)

In the pattern I’ve included YouTube links for useful technique videos I sourced with regard to stranded knitting (Fruityknitting) and kitchener stitch (WEBS).

This is my first published knitting pattern and chart, so any feedback to improve clarity and instructions are welcome!
