The Halftone Pullover is a playful & fun raglan sweater inspired by pop art and old-school comic book printing methods — specifically, the halftone reprographic technique. From a distance, this design tricks your eyes into seeing a smooth transition from one color to another. Up close, a bold, geometric colorwork motif is revealed! The recommended yarn for this pattern is a woolly & toothy fingering weight yarn. However, any fingering or light sport weight that gets you the right gauge will work just fine. Bonus points if the yarn is designed specifically for colorwork knitting! I designed this garment with a positive ease from 2-8 inches, but feel free to knit to your preferred ease. My sample is knit in size 2 with 7 inches of positive ease. Scroll through the photos to see a full schematic!

Purchase of this pattern includes a deluxe version (with illustrations, full schematic, & more!), a print-friendly version, and a print-friendly version with large text for easy reading. Please note that both charted AND written instructions are available for the colorwork motif! :)

Construction: The Halftone Pullover is worked from the top-down in the round. First, the collar is worked in 1x1 ribbing with the option of working a folded collar. German short rows shape the front of the garment & lift the back neck. Raglan increases grow the yoke, and the garment is divided into body & sleeves. After the division, the colorwork motif is worked on body & sleeves separately. Optional short rows may be worked on the body to further lower the back hem. Body & sleeves are then worked in the round in stockinette and finished with more 1x1 ribbing.
