Recursion
Inspired by the countless hours I spent mastering the art of M.S. Paint as a youth, this cozy colorwork pullover brings me back to simpler times. Do you remember the thrill of using a blocky, clunky mouse to scribble across your screen with abandon, then marveling at your natural talent for abstract digital art? If so, this is the garment for you. My sample was knit in a size 2 and my chest measurement is 33.5” (5.5” positive ease). If you’d like a similar fit to mine, I recommend aiming for between 4 to 6 inches of positive ease, though of course if you prefer more or less, that’s fine too!
Recursion is fully size inclusive, with 9 sizes ranging from a chest circumference (of the final garment) of 34.25”-74.25”. Please see the pattern photos for a detailed schematics with more measurements. Also, please note that the colorwork is charted only :)
Construction: Recursion is worked seamlessly from the top down. First, the neckband is worked in 1x1 twisted ribbing, followed by some short rows to raise the back neck. The yoke is worked in stranded colorwork. Then the sweater is divided for body and sleeves & both are finished off in the round. A second round of short rows is worked at the body’s back hem to lengthen it.
