This crescent shaped shawl is knit in one piece from the top down in a lacey pattern, ending with a complementary lace edging. The binding can be done wither with a crochet hook or with knitting needles. Instructions for both are included. Charts only are provided for the lace patterns.

This shawl is a part of my acer collection, 5 More Shades of Acer. The inspiration is Acer palmatum ‘Hana Matoi’, which is possibly the most beautiful cutleaf maple in our garden. I have been waiting for just the perfect design to capture its delicate beauty.

A second edging has been provided to allow the knitter to make this shawl in a single skein of Tanis Silver label mulberry silk. Approximately 500yd are required for this size.
