Heart On Your Sleeve Sweater
HEART ON YOUR SLEEVE SWEATER
A cable project with a traditional look and modern construction.
The Heart on Your Sleeve Sweater is a top-down raglan design with heart-shaped cables flowing from the shoulder to the cuff. The sleeves carry the main visual interest, while the body is worked in plain stockinette for a balanced look. This design is part of the String of Hearts cable work series, continuing the theme with a clean silhouette that showcases the cable details.
CONSTRUCTION
This sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down. It begins with a 2×2 ribbed neckband, followed by short rows to shape the neckline before the raglan increases begin. As the yoke expands, the heart-shaped cable panels form along each sleeve and continue uninterrupted to the cuffs.
The fit is relaxed and comfortable, with straight sleeves and small side slits at the hem for ease. The plain body is intentionally simple to highlight the cable detail on the sleeves.
The pattern includes both written instructions and a chart for the sleeve cables.

GAUGE
18 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10cm or 4 x 4″ in stockinette sts after blocking with 5 mm / US 8 needle.
If you cannot get the same gauge, adjust the needle size to obtain the number of sts for a 10 cm / 4” WIDTH. Length is adjustable.
Note: if you are using ‘shorties’ circular needles for the sleeves, you may have to prepare a swatch with shorties in a comparatively small size circle to get an accurate gauge. Shorties tend to knit a tighter gauge. You may try going up a needle size with shorties to match the body gauge.
