The Hearty Skirt is worked top down, starting with the folded waistband, which you can either knit or sew. Then there are increases & the hem is bound off using the I-cord bind off.

The skirt is designed with a 5 - 10 cm / 2 - 4” of positive ease for the waist, so it slips on comfortably. You can change the width of the waistband with an elastic band :)
I recommend choosing the size by measuring the part where you want the skirt to sit.
The sample is made in size 3 and my waist just above my belly button is about 73 cm / 28¾”
