Crochet your own little Hello Kitty in blue overalls and a yellow shirt, with tiny thumbs, neat whiskers, and her unmistakable red bow!

This listing is for a PDF crochet pattern containing instructions to make Hello Kitty. It is not a finished physical item or a kit. No materials are included.

The legs are joined as you crochet the body, and colour changes create her outfit directly in the fabric. The head, arms, ears, tail, and bow are made separately and sewn on. Her outfit is part of the body rather than removable clothing.

✨ What’s included

  • Detailed written instructions with step-by-step photos
  • Guidance for colour changes, facial details, and assembly
  • A crocheted bow and bobble-stitch thumbs
  • An illustrated techniques appendix

Techniques
Continuous and joined rounds, working around a foundation chain, rows, colour changes, bobble stitches, and sewing. Some techniques may be new to less experienced crocheters; explanations and photos are included to help.

Finished size
Approximately 10 cm tall and 8 cm wide when made with sport-weight yarn and a 2.0 mm hook. Size will vary depending on the yarn and hook selected.

Materials

  • Sport-weight yarn in white, blue, yellow, red, and black. I used YarnArt Jeans.
  • 2.0 mm crochet hook.
  • Alternatively, use your favourite yarn in the colours above and a hook approximately 1 mm smaller than the size recommended on the yarn label. Aim for firm, even stitches that hold their shape and keep the stuffing from showing.
  • Stuffing.
  • Oval black safety eyes, approximately 2 stitches tall—I used 8 × 6 mm eyes.
  • Fabric glue.
  • Stitch markers, sewing pins, and a tapestry needle.

The nose can be embroidered with yellow yarn. Instructions for an alternative nose made with a 3D pen are also included, but a 3D pen is optional.

Language and terminology
English, using US crochet terminology.
