Everyone loves layering clothes not only in the fall and winter seasons. The best part about knit vests is that they look great over almost every garment. It is a perfect addition to your wardrobe for years to come. This pattern is knitted using 2 yarns held together – the silk mohair adding a luxurious feel and look to the vest.
The Holey Cable Vest design is simple - the Back, 2 Front pieces and 2 Bands are worked separately back and forth from the bottom up. This design is knitted using cables and yo stitch to create the Holey Cable pattern.
The Vest is topped off with a long-unrolled neck.

SKILL LEVEL: Advanced.
Sts used: K, p, k2tog, p2tog, yo, sl1wyib, 4/4 RC, 4/4 LC.

MATERIALS REQUIRED
• 10 x 50 g balls 1700 m or 1860 yds using Drops Nord colour shade 20 or any other 4 ply (fingering yarn).
• 8 x 25 g balls 1680 m/ 1838 yds using Drops Kid Silk colour shade 03 or any other kid silk yarn.
NB If you substitute another yarn, please check tension and yardage.
• 1 Circular needle 4.00 mm x 80 cm (US 6).
• 1 Circular needle 5.00 mm x 80 cm (US 8).
• 1 Tapestry needle.
• 2 Stitch Markers.

SIZE: one size M/L.
If you wish shorter/longer length, work less/more pattern repeats.
NB After washing & blocking length extends approx. 10 cm (4 in), width - 5cm (2 in).

ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS AFTER WASHING & BLOCKING
Flat width (just below armhole) - 60 cm / 23 ½ in.
Length (from top of the shoulder) - 85 cm / 33 ½ in.

GAUGE (Tension): 30 sts and 24 rows = 10 cm (4 in), measured over Holey Cable pattern, (garment being washed and blocked), using 5.00 mm (US 8) needle.
NB Needle size is only a guide - if you get too many stitches for 10 cm, take a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches for 10 cm, take a smaller needle
size. It’s very important to check your gauge (tension) before starting as working to the wrong tension will mean your garment won’t be size shown.
