This richly cabled, button-on tea cozy combines a variety of techniques into a show-stopper of a project, from the slip stitch ribbing base, to the cabled panels and steeks that allow you to work a flat project in the round (and test your courage when the time comes to cut them).

Surface slip stitch and chain-loop rows trim the panel edges and openings, while embroidered French knots on the large cable panels add to the cozy’s charm.

Pattern is one size. To adjust cozy height, work more or fewer vertical repeats of cable pattern. To adjust cozy circumference, work a longer or shorter slip stitch ribbing band, and add or subtract stitches as needed to/from side cable panels.

This pattern is part of the book Live Loop Cables in Crochet, which uses an innovative technique to create I-cord like cables on the fabric surface. Patterns were tech edited by Amy Daraghy (GreenHook on Rav).

Thanks for viewing, and happy crocheting!
