Hot Spot is a bright, bold and fun colourwork sock design aimed to bring joy every time you wear them! I love a polka dot and knitted in high energy and contrast colours these socks give a great dopamine hit. The socks are knitted cuff down and have a short row shadow wrap heel to allow for the colourwork design to flow along the leg and length of the foot.

Yarn
Any fingering weight sock yarn will work for this design, ensure there is a high contrast with your colour choices for best results. The yarn used in the main photos is from The Wool Kitchen.

Approximate quantities for;
UK size 4 - 8 EU 37 - 41 US 6 -10

The Wool Kitchen - 4ply sock Yarn
MC - 50g 210m / 230 yrds Hot Sauce!
CC - 30g 130m / 140 yrds Lilac Haze

Size
In this pattern there is a stitch count for 3 sizes;
Small - finished circumference 17.5 cm / 6.75”
Medium - finished circumference 20 cm / 7.75”
Large - finished circumference 22.5 cm / 8.75”
Select a size that is 1-2cm / 0.5-0.75” smaller than the circumference of the ball of your foot for a good fit.

NEEDLES
2.5mm / US 1.5 DPNs or circular needles for magic
loop. Use needles of your preference to achieve
advised gauge. If you have tension difficulties with
colour work consider increasing your needle size.
