This mosaic design was inspired by my horticulturist sister. I wanted to create a pattern featuring the plants and work she loves so much. I hope others can also enjoy making up this magical garden pattern!

This pattern uses overlay mosaic crochet technique and is written in English, using US crochet terms.

This pattern includes both written row instructions & pattern charts. The instructions and charts are for just the main design, not including a border.

My sample blanket measures 125 x 200 cm (49 x 79 ins.) not including the fringe or a border. Though if you want, you can make a smaller or larger finished item with less or more repeats.

Some knowledge of mosaic overlay crochet technique is recommended. The pattern includes simple instructions on mosaic overlay crochet technique and for reading the chart, but does not teach how to do mosaic overlay crochet.

You can use any yarn you like to make this pattern, though contrasting colours make the design look best.

For my sample I used:
Colour A (background) - 4 Seasons Brighton Cotton Blend 50g in colour Beige
Colour B (design) - Lion Brand Ferris Wheel in colours Evergreen (603), Cherry On Top (610), Pink Marmalade (611)

Note about my yarn choice: this Lion Brand Ferris Wheel yarn is a Worsted / Category 4 weight yarn, but I find it to be on the lighter side for this weight category. When paired with the DK / 8 ply 4 Seasons Cotton Blend, I hit the same gauge as I did when testing with 2 DK yarns.
