The How Many, How Much mitts are named after Shel Silverstein’s book A Light In The Attic and a poem in that book. They were designed to be shared with your most knitworthy friends, and are dedicated to one of my best friends, Beverly, and made using my other best friend’s yarn (Bayou City Yarn Co.).

It features a mock cable rib, and a chain link cable to represent the bonds we make in the fiber community.

The pattern contains picture tutorials for some of the more tricky techniques, and two versions of the thumb (a fitted version, and a roomy version- the roomy version is suggested for gifting to someone who you might not have measurements for)

Materials Needed:

  • 2 stitch markers
  • 1 cable needle
  • a tape measure or ruler to get gauge
  • scrap yarn or stitch holder
  • sports weight yarn (around 50 grams) (the recommended yarn for this pattern is Bayou City Yarn Co. Twisty Sport 80/20 superwash merino nylon or Basic Sport 100 superwash merino)

Special Thanks to my Test Knitters:
