The Ianthe Stole is an ode to spring time. The central mesh portion is worked first, it goes quickly and is good “mindless crochet”. Next you work the vintage looking floral border. It is simpler than it looks, and once you get the hang of it, moves along easily as well. The corners feature a bigger chrysanthemum bloom for added interest.

This shawl is best worked in a yarn that blocks well and has some drape to it. I can imagine it worked up in so many different colors and is particularly well suited to tonal yarns and gradients.
