The Isabella tie-back vest is a simple, beginner-friendly piece! It can be worn as a tank top in the summer or as a layering piece during the rest of the year. It’s also great to eat up yarn scraps.

To crochet the vest, you create one large rectangle by casting on from the short edge and then working in iris stitch to reach your bust circumference. You then work an edging which includes creating ties down the short sides. Finally, you crochet wide straps in iris stitch.

Size options:
This pattern is made-to-measure to fit every body type! When blocked, the top’s circumference (length of the rectangle) should perfectly match your bust width (no ease).

The top as a whole has a boxy, loose fit around your stomach. You will need to take these two measurements: 1. bust circumference and 2. torso length, which you can modify to achieve either a cropped or full-length look.

Materials:
3.25 mm crochet hook
DK weight cotton yarn

To calculate how much yarn you will need, fill in this formula with your measurements:
bust circumference (inches) x torso length (inches) x 1.62 = yards needed
bust circumference (cm) x torso length (cm) x 0.25 = yards needed
