My husband is not a man that asks me for much in the way of garments or accessories. A simple man by nature he has a handful of sweaters and one knitted beanie. So, when he asked for a cowl and some socks for his motorbike rides, I was happy to oblige. There was no chance he would indulge in cables, textures or multiple colours so this cowl is a very simple and classic one colour, one and a half skein design for which I chose a super squishy luxurious DK yarn from Arcane Fibre Works – semi solid (Midnight).

The cowl is knit in a tube in the round, twisted once, and then grafted together using the Kitchener stitch. The pattern is a simple and straightforward quick knit which can be lengthened as desired, and knit with a combination of yarns including fingering held double, sport with a lace weight or the DK yarn I have specified.
